Fridon Shubitidze received the degree of Diploma radio physicist (M.S) from Sukhumi branch of Tbilisi State University, Republic of Georgia, in 1994 and Candidate of Sciences Ph.D degree in radio physics (applied electromagnetic) from physics department, Tbilisi State University, Republic of Georgia, in 1997. Since 1994, he has been on the Research Staff of the Laboratory of Applied Electrodynamics, Tbilisi State University, Department of Physics, Republic of Georgia. At the same period he joined department of physics and mathematics, Sukhumi branch of Tbilisi State University as a senior teacher and became Associate Professor there in 1998. From 1998 to 2000 he held postdoctoral fellowship in National Technical University of Athens, Greece. Researches are connected with computer simulation of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Electrodynamics aspects of EMC, Numerical modeling conformal antenna area, Electromagnetic waves scattering, field visualization and identification of objects by scattered field analysis, investigation of wave propagation through anisotropy, plasma and chiral media; Numerical methods (Method of Auxiliary Sources (Frequency domain), Method of Moment (Frequency and time domain), Finite Difference Time Domain Method). He is currently, working as postdoctoral researcher at the Thayer School of Engineering, Dartmouth College, Hanover NH. His current research interests focus on numerical modeling of electromagnetic scattering by subsurface metallic objects, and of global magneto-quasistatic fields due to ionospheric currents (http://thayer.dartmouth.edu/other/gic/).
